The Light That Keeps Getting Brighter
A week into a new habit is where the honest disappointment usually arrives. You expected to feel different by now, and you feel roughly the same.
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
That is a description of dawn, and dawn is the least dramatic light there is. Nobody can point at the moment it happened. You look up at some stage and notice the room is bright.
The proverb does not promise a flash. It promises a gradient — more and more — and it sets the destination a long way off, at the perfect day.
Which means a week in, feeling roughly the same, is exactly what the verse predicts. You are on the part of the curve that does not look like anything yet.
Nobody sees dawn happen. They notice the room is bright.
Growth you can feel day to day is usually emotion. Growth you can only see across years is usually formation.
Keep walking. The gradient is doing what it says.
Carry this today
What are you giving up on because it is slow rather than because it is wrong?
