Purpose When You Cannot See Far
The writer has just given one of the sternest warnings in the New Testament. Then, suddenly, his tone softens. But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
The reason he gives is remarkable. God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love. Forgetting your love would be, in his words, unrighteous. God's own justice is committed to remembering.
Look at the tenses. ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Past and present together. They had served, and they were still serving. The writer does not ask them to see the end, only to keep going with the same diligence they had already shown.
When you cannot see far, it helps to know that the road behind you has not been erased. The meals you cooked for the grieving, the visits to the sick, the offering given quietly when money was short, are not lost in the fog. They are held by a God who will not forget.
If you are a carer whose days blur together at home, or a Sunday school teacher wondering if any of it sticks, keep ministering. You do not have to see the end of the road. He sees all of it.
You cannot see the end.He has not forgotten the beginning.
God remembers what you have forgotten you did.
Keep doing tomorrow what you did with love yesterday.
Carry this today
What past labour of love do you need to remember God has not forgotten?

Read Hebrews 6:9–11
9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. 10For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
